Life Cycle Assessment Analyst (m/f/d)

Sustainability, and particularly the development of sustainable products, is an important pillar of the Z&S strategy. Product life cycle analyses or carbon footprints (LCA / PCF) are the method of choice for steering product optimisations or new developments towards sustainability and form the backbone of a data-supported portfolio transformation.
As an analyst in PCF / LCA calculation, you will be part of the ESG team at Zschimmer & Schwarz, coordinating data with different units such as procurement, operations, global operational marketing, R&D and combining them into life cycle assessments.

Job description

  • Point of contact for questions related to life cycle assessment (LCA) and 
    product carbon footprint (PCF)
  • Conduct LCA calculations of different products and product groups according 
    to different methodological standards (e.g. ISO), interpret and present
    results according to the Zschimmer & Schwarz LCA guideline
  • Advice, support and training of business partners on all aspects of LCA 
    Support R&D in the development of sustainable products with LCA data
    and knowledge
  • Together with internal stakeholders, monitor standards, norms, guidelines and their relevance to Zschimmer & Schwarz LCA (e.g. ISO, TFS, etc.) and 
    develop compliant Z&S reporting formats

Required Qualifications

  • Background in chemistry (master’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or related fields)
  • Good IT knowledge (MS Office, Excel)
  • Prior knowledge in performing LCA calculations and generating key performance indicators (KPIs) using LCA tools like SimaPro is a plus. Training opportunities are available
  • Ability to think data-driven and communicate findings in a comprehensible way
  • Ability to effectively communicate LCA concepts and negotiate with stakeholders to achieve alignment on methodologies and results
  • Self-driven way of working with the ability to navigate in a multinational matrix-organisational structure, effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Fluent English skills (C1)
